I’ll
have to hold my hands high and say that I don’t have much of a skincare regime
and although I’ve watched and admire my mum for her skin care habits - I don’t
have a fully flex skin care routine that I stick too which is probably the
reason why I have such dry, flaky and red skin. I’m clearly using the wrong products such as
face wipes (for sensitive skin of course) and any moisturiser that I can get my
hands on. Although it gets rid of the grime it doesn’t benefit my skin which is
why I was very excited to test out some products from Escentual – The lovely
people there of course sent me the Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser to review (you
can check that post HERE) but also Bioderma products (posts for these soon) and
the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Pro Duo [+] – I’ve not heard of this brand as such,
but was eager to try it out, as I haven’t looked after my skin the best that I
could its left me with uneven skin tone, blemishes and bumpy skin which of
course can be a pain to cover even with make – up.
The
product is Paraben Free and is said to help correct imperfection, unclogs pores
& fights against marks. It’s aimed at people who suffer from breakouts,
blemishes and oily skin and I certainly suffer from two of those, so I was very
much looking forward to testing this out. After 24 hours you’re supposed to see
a difference in imperfections and they’ll be less red – After 8 days the
imperfections appear significally reduced and after 4 weeks of using the
product pores will start to look unclogged, texture looks refined and the appearance
of shine will be controlled.
I
used this every morning and every night after the usual removal of makeup and
it’s such an amazing make up base meaning that I didn’t have to really use
primer – Each time I used the product it left me with a fresh, smooth and
cleansed face which lasted all day and didn’t feel too heavy however, my skin
did break out quite a lot leaving me with some very angry spots, but I gathered
that my skin had to first be bad to be good. I have noticed major improvement
to my skin since I first received this about 2-3 weeks ago and although I did
have a funny few days with the breakouts the final results are amazing.
I
no longer have uneven skin tone, my bumpy skin has calmed itself down and even
my flaky skin around my t-zone has improved huge amounts, so it’s safe to say
that I think I may have found my new best friend.
Overall,
this product is perfect for someone who’s looking to give their skin a bit of
TLC as well as someone with uncontrollable skin that produces excess sebum
meaning that it’s difficult to control with the oily texture. If you stick at
it and use it every day and night you’ll certainly notice the improvements
within a week. The texture is light and creamy and there is no greasy residue
that some creams can leave. At £15.50, it might seem pricey, but your skin will
really love you for it.

you want to check out the La Roche-Posay range then you can visit the Escentual
