Films
are a perfect way to bring many people together – It’s a way of captivating everyone’s
imaginations and giving them stories that they can share with everyone and
anyone and it’s safe to say that both I and my boyfriend John are film fanatics
through and through. This post is going to be dedicated to the hundreds of
films that we have in our “DVD room” and how much of a vast variety of genres
we have in our home.
We
have lots of DVD’s, Blu-Ray’s & TV Shows and will always go and visit the
cinema for a new release because let’s face it, the poor ol’ cinema doesn’t get
a lot of love these days because of easier ways to view films such as LoveFilm
& Netflix. If we like a film that we’ve watched in the cinema then well
make sure it’s pre-ordered, but by going to visit the cinema every now and
again it puts the joy and excitement back into watching that film with freshly
popped popcorn and comfy seating – Something that even though you can do at
home, just doesn’t come close enough to watching it on the big screen.
John
has always been a huge film buff before we even got together and that’s what
makes us like two peas in a pod because of our love for films. There have been
many incredible evenings watching films together, but there are always those occasions
when one of us doesn’t want to watch the film that the other has chosen – We tend
to compromise and 9 times out of 10 the other one has actually in fact enjoyed
the film! Not only do we love our films,
but we adore our TV Shows. We couldn’t be any more different with our shows, as
I love cartoons & American high school dramas such as ONE TREE HILL & THE O.C
whereas John loves British sitcoms and action packed & teeth gritting American
dramas such as LOST & DEXTER
We’re
also both HUGE wrestling fans and
own quite a fair few of their PPV’s and tagged classics – I started liking this
sport when I was younger and of course because of having older brothers, wrestling
was always on the telly. John started liking this more or less the same time
(maybe a bit before) me and when he was in his teens would hang around with his
friends incorporating some wrestling moves in his jackass style film that him
and his friends would film and called it MOTION INTAKE. We just enjoy watching
these together; as it always brings back memories for both of us when start
talking about our favourite matches or tag teams.
There
isn’t a film collection without Disney and that’s where my little input comes
into play – I ADORE Disney and I think I’ll always love it until I’ve decided
to leave this planet, but because of my love for Disney I’ve been able to hand
that down too my niece and nephews and share my love for it with them – I get
to watch the films that I love such as Alice In Wonderland & Sleeping
Beauty with them, as well as getting to watch their favourites such as Wreck It
Ralph and UP which makes it even more special. Cartoons such as Batman:
Animated Series & Ren & Stimpy are perfect when you’re having a bit of
bad day and need some cheering up and don’t fancy watching a gripping film
which is why these are in our living room along with our TV Shows.
It’s
safe to say from the pictures and words that both I and John love our TV &
Films and it’s what makes us well... US – There is nothing better than coming
home after a hard day at work and sitting down to watch a film and now that
John has upgraded the telly to a 47 inch 3D telly, I’m sure our home will end
up being like a real cinema soon! I was going to add on a list of the films etc
that we own, but I’ll put that onto another post at a later date.
I
hope you’ve enjoyed reading why we love films – Have you seen or want to see
any of the films shown in my pictures? Have you got a collection like ours? I’d
love to know so, just pop a comment below or tweet me @KMacBlogs #filmfanatic
