.. Gift Guide | Part 1 - The Gamer ..

Do you struggle to buy that special gift for that very special man in your life? I know I do and I find it so much easier to just give my boyfriend money for his birthday so, that he can purchase something that he wants to get however, it’s not fair that boys never get to open anything on their birthday regardless of whether they're 20, 30, 40 – something is better than nothing so, I’ve come up with some ideas to help you pick the perfect present.

Now, I’m not one to stereotype, but in order to pick the perfect present you kind of need to whittle it down so, each day this week, I’ll be focusing on one type of man a day to hopefully help you find that perfect gift. So here we go!

The Gamer

I think it’s safe to say that all men are gamers, even if they don’t like to admit it and it’s funny to watch them get angry over a game. Believe me; I’ve seen many a play station controller flying about because of a missed goal on Fifa14. You can either buy a new game altogether hoping that they’ll enjoy it or you can have a little theme and purchase items specifically from that game such as posters & memorabilia.

Play.com has a wonderful range of gaming goodies and with free delivery it’s a must for any present hunter. Whether they’re an old school gamer or a new age gamer this website literally has everything. It’s all sold by third party sellers who have really good ratings so, you can be sure that you’ll receive your goodies in tip top condition. Below are a few things that I have found for that gamer in your life.

This is perfect for that old school gamer that no longer has a Sega and dreams of reliving his youth – its £27.99, but is jam packed with 30 games and has a 2.4 LCD display. There are the likes of Golden Axe, Sonic and even Alex Kidd as I mentioned. It’s such a wonderful present that means you no longer have to fight over the telly!

Most guy love comics so, what better way to make them feel like a superhero than having their very own superhero dressing gown! It’s a simple present, but if you have a comic geek as a boyfriend, husband or partner then they will certainly appreciate it. Let’s just hope that when putting the gown on they don’t immediately think they're Bruce Wayne!

This is such a perfect present for that retro gamer. They’ll appreciate this a lot – not only because it will probably bring back memories of the game especially the music that would play when the blocks came falling down, but the fact that this wonderful creation means that they can change the blocks around to create their own little tertis light.

There you have it, a few ideas to help you out with finding that perfect present. It really doesn’t have to be a new game or a new console, as long as you have something that has a gamer stamp on it such as the Tetris Lamp then you’re a winner.

Is the man in your life a gamer? Let me know the best present that you’ve purchased for him. Leave a comment below or tweet me @KMacBlogs #gamergiftguide
