.. International Box Swap with ChicAndAlluring ..

I’m so excited to post this post, as it’s all about my first international box swap. I recently contacted the wonderful Tammy from ChicAndAlluring.com – You have to go check out her blog, its full of the most amazing lip tutorials through the decades and fantastic reviews. We gathered information of the brands that we both liked, as well as the colours to buy and to avoid. There wasn’t a limit given or a timescale, but we managed to grab all the items within a few weeks or so and get them shipped off. Tammy had sent hers out to me on the Tuesday of last week & mine was sent out on the Thursday so, I’m hoping she will get hers very soon.

I asked Tammy whether she’d be able to include some MAC products and anything from the new Easter range at Yankee Candle – I literally wasn’t expecting everything else that came in the parcel and I was in total shock of the thought and effort that she made in purchasing these products for me and also getting them to me so quickly.

The package arrived yesterday and everything was wrapped up in wrapping paper which made it feel like Christmas all over again! A cute little note inside along with some San Diego postcards were included too (I knew I should have sent off postcards!) I pulled the first thing out which was a wonderfully soft black & white polka dot make up bag – it was full of perfectly wrapped products. The make up/beauty products that I received were;

Physicians Formula Bronzer

L’Oreal Paris Infallible – 996 Liquid Diamond

Physicians Formula Highlighter

MAC Mineralize Eye shadows in Smutty Green & Young Punk

MAC Lipstick in Sweetie

MAC Viva Glam Rhianna Tinted Lipglass

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara

Sephora OPI Nail Polish in Already Famous

Bath & Body Works Hand Gel in Pink Diamond

Smiths Strawberry Lip Balm

I have never ever purchased or tried any MAC make up so; you can imagine my excitement when I saw 2 eye shadows and 2 lip products. Both are perfect colours and in fact Sweetie is one of the lipsticks I really wanted to get if I was to treat myself. The colours of the eye shadows are totally me as well and I love playing around with smoky eyes so, I think these will work well.
I have my favourite mascara, but I’m always willing to test out others and the Smashbox one is perfect as, I’m off on holiday soon so, it’ll nice to take with me and see how well my lashes love it.

We have L’Oreal Paris in the UK, but I’ve never really purchased anything from them so, I’m really eager to try out the eye shadow that Tammy got me – It’s such a gorgeous colour and perfect for my holiday. I have never heard neither of Physicians Formula, but both compacts come with a mirror and brush and will work wonders on my skin if I fancy a more natural look.

I have always wanted to try out products from Bath & Body Works, as they always seem to have so many different fragrances for their hand gels – I received Pink Diamond which smells amazing along with leaving little specks of glitter after you’ve used it. I love my lip balms, but the Smiths Strawberry Balm not only looks amazing, but smells amazing. I can’t wait to start using this as I always need added moisture to my lips as they become so dry.

Yankee Candles in Golden Sands (sandalwood, orange & Tonka beans), Mango Peach Salsa (juicy mangoes, peaches, citrus, ginger flowers & pink pepper) & Macintosh (Red Apples) – All of these fragrances are something I’d certainly pick up and can’t wait to start burning these and giving my home some Yankee Candle fragrance! I also received an Easter Bunny Car Jar in the scent Vanilla Cupcake – It’s perfect to keep in my wardrobe, as I don’t drive. I did want some of the new Easter scents that they have out over in America, but they didn’t have any in Tammy’s local store so, the little car jar is perfect  as it still has the Easter scent J

There were also some treats inside which will be enjoyed throughout the month – I wasn’t expecting anything else other than the items that I told Tammy I’d like to have, so receiving these little sweet treats were a bonus – Inside were Red Vines; these are perfect tube sweets which I'm pretty sure are the same sweets that I've seen in some films I've seen. I also received Jelly Belly Beans and S'Mores Pop Tarts! I love anything that involves chocolate & marshmallow & pop tarts are my ultimate favourite treat although we don't have all the flavours here in the UK.

There you have it, my first international box swap! Tammy is someone who I really love talking too on a daily basis and find her blog so honest and fun! We’ve decided that as this swap has gone well (I’ll pop a link of her post about my products I sent her when she receives them) that we’re going to do a swap for every season. This means that we will have longer to buy things for each other and it’ll have a little theme. Once again, thanks Tammy for sending me these products and I hope you’ll enjoy your goodies when they arrive!

Have any of you taken part in an International box swap? What has been your favourite product from it? Let us know by sending us a tweet to @KMacBlogs & @ChicandAlluring #BoxSwap or by popping a comment down below. We would love to hear your thoughts.

  2. Btw, that Physicians Formula powder isn't really a highlighter! It's supposed to be a "skin tone evener" that you apply all over your face. Of course, I have no idea if it actually works or not, but it's one of the best-sellers here. :-P
