Coconut
Oil is an all time favourite beauty product of mine and a staple in my beauty
bag. There is something about the fragrance that just transports me to a little
island in my own head full of golden sands and blue oceans, but the main reason
why I enjoy using it is because my skin thanks me for it. If you have read
through some of my previous posts, you’ll know that I suffer from sensitive
skin and although I can sometimes get away with using some lotions and potions
the more fragranced the worst it can be for me, so when Superdrug sent me a
little pot of exotic goodness to test out I was pretty excited.
The
product inside is solid however, as soon as it’s touched the skin it
melts into a fragranced, non greasy lotion. It’s such a little multi -tasker
which is why I was excited to try this out too. You can use it for the
following;
·
A leave in hair conditioner – Use ½ a teaspoon of the product onto the ends of your hair and leave it
overnight. Wash thoroughly and shampoo as normal. Perfect as an alternative to
your usual leave in conditioners.
·
A Hair & Scalp Mask – Use a teaspoon of the product and add onto the hair and massage into
the scalp. Put on a shower cap or a plastic bag over the hair and leave for 1-2
hours. Perfect smelling and hydrated hair without the need for visiting a
hairdresser for a treatment.
·
An all over body moisturiser – It’s great to use on all skin types. Remember a little goes a long way.
I love
how this oil melts like butter when in contact with the skin and the best part
is that it never leaves a greasy residue. Sadly, my Body Shop Oil which I reguarly use is very greasy and just doesn't give me that hydrated feeling that this product does.
This is
by far the best Coconut Oil* that I’ve tried and I will certainly keep using
this until the pot runs out and with it only being £2.29, it’s certainly worth
purchasing again & again.

ReplyDeleteThat looks so amazing and versatile! I like coconut smelling things, too. I've seen solid coconut oil before, but here it is sold in big industrial jugs/jars -- NOT CUTE. :-P
ReplyDeleteAnywhoo, the only oil I use nowadays is argan oil because I managed to find a 2 oz (60mL) bottle that cost only $10. This will probably last me until I'm 45.

It really is an amazing product. I was a bit scared of trying out a solid oil because I'm so used to the liquid versions, but this was non greasy and has won me over :) xo
DeleteA bargain! I'll be on the hunt for it, thanks for the review. Oh and I find the body shop oil can't be used on my lips, it really dries them, xoxo.
ReplyDeleteIt really is :) You get so much usage out of this product :) You're more than welcome. Thanks for stopping by!

I think I'll be staying away from the Body Shop oils from now on. Too greasy for my liking.
