I
decided to go grab a few bits from Boots & Superdug the other day and with
not having much money, I decided that I wanted to get the things that I needed
instead of what I wanted and was so proud of myself for resisting the urge to
splurge. Both
Boots and Superdrug have some pretty good savings and promotions running at the
moment so, I didn’t feel guilty when leaving both shops with my goodies.
Boots
There
is currently a 3 for 2 offer running online and in all Boots stores which is
perfect if you’re wanting to purchase a lot of beauty, skin or hair care or
maybe a pick ‘n mix of both and I ended up leaving the store with the
following;
I’ve
dabbled in many foundations, trying to find the one that works well with my
skin and not many have blown my mind apart from Bourjouis 10 Hour Sleep Effect
foundation and of course this one. I loved it so much that I made sure that I
purchased it again especially whilst it was on offer. Seventeen are such a
wonderful and affordable brand with stylish packaging and this foundation has
such perfect staying powder without leaving your face feeling heavy or cakey.
It lasts me throughout the whole day without having to apply anymore and it
leaves me with such a smooth finish.
With
not having a lot of cash to splurge out on beauty products, I decided to go for
a much cheaper branded mascara this time to see if it can out do the other
mascaras that I’ve tried. I love a good mascara that can help my lashes separate,
look full without any clumps or leave any black specks on my face, so I’m very
excited to try this one out.
My
current nail polish collection has somewhat been defeated by their new home in
my wardrobe and have decided to go all clumpy and gloopy so, I actually needed
a new nail polish, but wanted a nice purple colour and decided to go for this
lovely grape colour – It’s such a beautiful and vibrant colour that it’s
actually the same colour as the purple smartie! I’ve tried the Color Show nail polishes
before and have gotten on well with them and find that they don’t take ages to
dry.
Superdrug
Superdrug
has some pretty good savings too and the one that stood out was the ‘Better
than ½ price’ promotion on selected products and as I needed some new Shampoo
& Conditioner, I was straight in there getting some goodies. I ended up
leaving the store with the following;
L’Oreal Elvive - Re-Nutrition
Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner – £1.96 each for 400ml
I
don’t currently have a shampoo and conditioner that I use every day, so when I
saw that the L’Oreal Elvive range were part of the better than half price promo,
I jumped at the change to get the Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner. I’ve
found that it works well with my hair making it stronger, softer and smoother,
as well as leaving it with a gorgeous scent. This will last me quite a while because
I don’t use a lot of product when it comes to washing my hair.
So
there you have it, my little haul from both stores and I must say I’m very
proud of how well I resisted the urge to go out and buy the things that I didn’t
need. I now have things that I need which will last me the month and maybe
longer without having to spend loads.
Have
you had to cut back on spending this month? How well have you found it? Also,
have you tried any of the products above? Let me know by posting a comment
below or tweeting me @KMacBlogs.
Don’t
forget! I have a little giveaway where you can win a MAC Lipstick of your
