Yankee Candle Review..

What girl doesn't love candles? Whether it's to set the mood for a date, make your home smell nice or even an added extra to make your bath-time feel like a spa. 

I recently found out about Yankee Candles whilst watching QVC.. as you do and I was a bit dubious to purchase them because of the price however, these beauts, range from tiny little wax melts to large pillar candles and are as cheap as 94p to £20+. I purchased quite a few Votive Sampler Candles, as there is nothing worse than purchasing a HUGE candle, only to find out that you hate the smell. So, shall we start the reviewing?

Oh.. I need to let you know that although these candles are Yankee Candles they were actually purchased from a company called YankeeDoodle - They sell Yankee Candles but just a little bit cheaper. The service and delivery was very fast and although I was missing one item, they sent out the missing item within a day or so. THUMBS UP YANKEE DOODLE!

Red Apple Wreath - RRP: £1.80 - YankeeDoodle Price: £1.35 -  "A happy holiday homecoming with the festive aroma of sweet apples, cinnamon, walnuts and maple"    The scent from this candle wasn't my favourite. I got more pine from this with a tiny hint of Cinnamon, but of course I'll give this a go and you never know, it might end up growing on me.  

Cranberry Ice - RRP: £1.80 - YankeeDoodle Price: £1.35 - "Refreshingly tart and sweet, A cool, stimulating rush of frosty red fruits bursting with a tangy sweetness" I loved this scent! There was something about it that made go buy another Votive Sampler and a Mini Jar Candle. I love anything that is Cranberry and it just instantly reminds me of Christmas. 

Christmas Eve - RRP: £1.80 - YankeeDoodle Price: £1.35 - "Traditional holiday scents of a warm hearth, sugared plums, and candied fruits" - Wow, This sent completely took me back to many Christmas Eve's. It had such an incredible smell that left my living room feeling warm and cosy.

Sparkling Cinnamon - RRP: £1.80 - YankeeDoodle Price: £1.35 - "Holiday glow.. the spicy warmth of real imported stick cinnamon with a hint of cloves" - The scent from this candle was amazing. I'm not sure if many of you have heard of BIG RED chewing gum? If so, it instantly reminds me of this and the time that I spent in the Cayman Islands with my father. LOVE IT.

Christmas Memories - RRP: £1.80 - YankeeDoodle Price: £1.35 - " From the heart of the kitchen, unforgettable holiday moments are brought home again with this comforting receipe of spices and sweets" - The scent contained lots and lots of Gingerbread, filling my senses and reminding me of Gingerbread Lattes + Gingerbread Men. This is a must for Christmas as it just makes you feel all warm inside.

Snowflake Cookie - RRP: £1.80 - Yankedoodle Price: £1.35 - " A new Christmas tradition that is sure to charm: perfectly pretty holiday cookies, deliciously decorated with sugary pink icing" - If you have a sweet tooth and lot the smell of freshly baked cookies then this one is for you. I didn't like this as much and found the smell a bit too overpowering and sickly.

Vanilla Lime - RRP: £1.80 - Yankedoodle Price: £1.35 - " Smooth and refreshing.. the creamy richness of vanilla with sweet cane sugar and a zesty lime twist" - This mouthwatering beauty is gorgeous the lime isn't overpowering and felt very fresh and not sickly like some vanilla candles can be.

Apple & Pine Needle -  RRP: £1.80 - Yankedoodle Price: £1.35 -" Popular pine gets a fruity twist as crisp apple notes are combined with pine needle, cypress and cedarwood twist" - I was quite surprised by this scent. I didn't think I'd like it however, my nose went insane with the fresh pine smell. It reminded me of walking through a forest on a crisp winters day. 

Beach Walk - RPP: £1.80 - £1.35 - " Refreshing salt water and sea musk warmed with sunny notes of tangerine and orange blossom " - This candle has gone in the bathroom, as it just a heavenly scent. As soon as you captivate the scent in your nostrils it instantly reminds you of the sea air. It's pretty musky but fresh at the same time, so isn't too overpowering.

 Waikiki Melon  RPP: £1.80 -YankeeDoodle: £1.35 - " Aloha! Wake up to the sunny, sweet glow of exotic, juicy melons with a touch of sweet orange oil " - I absolutely love anything with melon in it and this scent was beautiful. The orange in the scent gave it that extra punch and it's something that I will more than likely be burning through those summer nights.

Christmas Cookie -  RPP: £1.80 -YankeeDoodle: £1.35 - " The wonderfully soothing aroma of camomile and honey steepted with tea leaves and a touch of citrus zest " - I'm a huge fan of tea and also Alice In Wonderland ( tea parties galore! ), so this was just a perfect pick for me. It doesn't smell of overpowering tea leaves and with the random bursts of the citrus zest it left my living room feeling fresh and calm. 

 Clean Cotton - RRP: £1.80 - YankeeDoodle: £1.35 - " Sun-dried cotton combined with green notes, white flowers, and a hint of lemon " - I really do LOVE this scent. It reminded me and brought back memories of helping my mum with the washing, and letting it dry in the sunny garden. The smell is so fresh and desirable that I think I'll be purchasing the jar version of this scent very soon. LOVE IT

Christmas Rose - RRP: £1.80 - YankeeDoodle: £1.35  - " Christmas memories bloom in the authentic perfume of delicate rose petals and wintry powder freshness " - This scent wasn't my favourite because I don't really go for floral fragrances however, it did in fact remind me of my grandmother. It's crazy how a candle can bring back so memories. It was fresh with tons of floral scents in there, but not something that I'd try again.

Snow In Love - RRP : £1.80 - YankeeDoodle: £1.35 - " Fall in love with this delightful blend of creamy, comforting woods and wintry powder freshness" - Once again, I didn't really like this scent. It was too sickly and very overpowering and  with the powder freshness, it made it smell a bit like cheap perfume.

Merry Marshmallow  - RRP: £1.80 - YankeeDoodle: £1.35 - " It's a marshmallow world at Christmas! Find happiness in a delighfully luscious and creamy soft concoction of marshmallow and vanilla" - This scent was gorgeous and very light. The type of smell that you'd have on a cold winters night with the fire burning and a window ajar bringing in the fresh crispness of the air. It wasn't as sweet as some people would think and I think it could be used all year round not just for Christmas.

All Votive Samplers above are perfect if you wanted to light more than one, as they're made to layer ( yes, candles can be layered as well as clothing.. who'd of thought it! ) They also provide up to 15 hours of fragrance and are perfect as a little present to a loved one, friend or family member.

I would very much recommend Yankee Candle and also Yankee Doodle ( incredibly fast delivery and wonderful customer service ) for a vast variety of flavoursome candles. They're a perfect pick me up and I will be more than likely purchasing a few more to have a whiff at.
