We all have our favourite style & beauty
icons – The ones that show us the latest trends and the ones that we like to take a
little piece of their style and incorporate them into ours. I have looked up to many people such as my
mother, my grandmother and even my best friends. Each of their beauty regimes
and fashion sense are unique and I've managed to take a little piece of them
and incorporated into my own fashion sense and style.
I haven’t changed as such, but my sense of style has changed a lot since I've started working for a well known fashion
company. On a daily basis, I work on the Social Media pages and get to help out
with finding perfect outfits for special occasions and it’s really made me look
at fashion and style in a really different light. I now take pride in what I
wear and how I look. I don’t follow trends as
such or even make my own, I’m simply me and I love that whatever I wear,
whether it looks good to some or bad to others, is what I've chosen because well..
I felt comfortable in it.
Now, I really do look up to my mother and
grandmother not for their style, but for the way that they've looked after their skin. Above you can see picture of me and my mother ( - Top right hand corner - Not the best
picture, but you wouldn't think she’s nearly 60 right? ) She takes care of her
skin by making sure that she cleanses, tones and moisturises. She’ll always make
sure that her products have SPF in them and like me; she never sleeps with make
up on. As a result of this she now has amazing skin and when I've asked people
how old they think she is.. they tend do go for 40’s. I do suffer with some
breakouts time to time, but don’t we all? I just hope my skin is amazing like
hers when I get to her age J
Another person who I admire is Lauren Conrad. I admire her, because like me she has gone from wearing the same
things, having the same hair and make- up but throughout the years she’s found
her way and her own sense of style. I have her beauty and style books and look
to these if I need any inspiration. Her website also is full amazing ideas and
she now also has her own clothing collection – Hopefully it’ll venture over to
the UK soon!. The collection is full beautiful pieces and I simply love her
range of tea party dresses that will be prefect for those Spring get together's and Summer nights.
Her books contain, so much information on how to check your
beauty products for ingredients that can do more harm than good, what to take away with you if you’re going on
a mini getaway or a summer holiday and
she even gives you an insight to how her make up is applied daily. Thanks LC!
What I’m trying to say is that after blogging
for one month, my insight to style and beauty has gone crazy and given me even
more inspiration to just be myself and I love getting to see what other
bloggers are wearing and what recent beauty and skincare products they've tried
out. Since starting this blog I've become more confident in myself and I’m
willing to try out products that I wouldn't usually buy. It’s time to stop
being in this cocoon world of being scared of trying out new things and start being
a butterfly in the world of blogging J
